About Grace Gathering

Welcome to our website and to our local church family at Grace Gathering Sebastian. We are a non-denominational church. Our goal is to pattern ourselves after the original New Covenant Church model in the scriptures as much as possible in the modern world of today. We like to stay true to the original intent and teachings of the New Covenant, free of religious tradition, interpretation, and denominationalism, and preach the simple Gospel of Grace as it was given to us in scripture (Acts 20:24). Religion was man’s attempt to reach God. The Gospel is God’s attempt to persuade us of His desire and will for us. Here are some of our major core beliefs. You can also watch our YouTube page for vast amounts of teachings or contact us anytime.

Mission Statement

God has brought us into existence to proclaim the saving grace of Jesus Christ, to promote the loving grace of God, and to ever provide an atmosphere of living grace for those who live in the Sebastian area and its neighboring communities.

Vision Statement

We believe it is God’s desire to see more and more people living in the Sebastian area, both the young and the old alike, gathering together to experience the liberating truth and the abundant grace of God through Jesus Christ.

  • We believe the Bible is the Word of God. The Bible contains 66 books written by over 40 authors proclaiming not a rule book of religion, but a love story. The Bible is an integrated message system written by the Holy Spirit through men ultimately revealing the expressed desire of God for mankind. We also believe the as the Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, and for training in righteousness, (17 ) so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.…”.

  •  We believe Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of God. As the scriptures testify, He is the way, the truth, and the life. No other name has been given under heaven by which men can be saved. He is the gate, the vine, the good shepherd, and the sum of all scripture (John 1). He is the grace of God that has appeared in bodily form (Titus 2:11). We believe in His imminent return and the full manifestation of our salvation at the resurrection and His Kingdom will ultimately destroy sin, death, and all works of the Devil forever. Jesus lives in flesh and bone. As He is, so shall we be. He continues his work as both High Priest and Advocate at the Throne of Grace as a man inside the Trinity on our behalf (Hebrews 4:16, 1 John 2:1).

  • We believe that justification is by faith alone. The believer is born again and is fully justified and sanctified spiritually at the moment of salvation. The sanctification and maturation process then works its way “backwards” through our life not through self-effort, but a life in union with Him. Religion says you must work your way to sanctification (the do to become system of self-righteousness). The Gospel declares you fully holy and righteous (believe and you are). Mankind can do nothing to make himself right with God. That is why the Law came, to show us our hopeless plight. We then become aware of our need for a savior (Galatians 2:16, Romans 3:20-21). The believer’s primary identity is now that of Christ and His righteousness (1 Corinthians 5:21) and no longer that of a sinner. We have crossed from death to life when we accepted the work of Christ on our behalf. In other words, Christ “performed” on our behalf in every way! We can now be safe and secure in him.

  • We believe in the sanctity of free will choice. It is absolutely central for love to exist. Our free will choice is so important, that God allows His own will to be subject to it. For instance, it was never His intention for mankind to suffer the consequences of sin. We were never designed for it. But He let us choose or we would be robots imprisoned to His will. Therefore, we believe in eternal damnation for those who reject the free gift of salvation. The scripture plainly points this out. “Whomsoever shall” is unarguable.

  • We believe the Old Covenant is Christ concealed, and the New Covenant is Christ revealed (the mystery). Everything given to us and by the Law and the Prophets ultimately testifies of Christ. The types and shadows of the Old Covenant now give way to the reality which is Christ and the New Covenant (Colossians 2:16-17, Hebrews 8:13). There is no value in 10 commandment keeping, Jewish feasts, Sabbaths, and other Old Covenant laws. In fact, these are dangerous to your spiritual health! (2 Corinthians 3:7, Galatians 5:4).

  • We believe that the Gospels foundation is the grace of God as displayed to us in the finished work of the cross. Mankind had a very big sin problem and God’s solution was a hyper-super abounding grace that superseded the problem of man and restored us to relationship with God (Romans 5:20-21, Ephesians 2:8-9). Therefore, the Old Covenant Law and Commandments have finished their work in revealing Christ (Galatians 3:24) and we are now “no longer under the Law, but we live by God’s grace” (Romans 6:14). The Law and the Prophets ministry was fulfilled in Christ (Romans 10:4). Grace places Christ as now the complete center of our lives and teaches us to live Godly (Titus 2:11-12) and not follow the flesh.

  • We believe that the key to fruitful spiritual life, and experiencing the quality of God’s life is walking in our union with Christ (Romans 6:1-14), not out of our own self-righteous efforts. The Law kills but the Spirit gives life. Works are a fruit of living in union with Christ, not a root to justify (make us right) with God. We simply are expressers of and manifest the life of Christ to the physical world. In other words, it is Christ living His life through us (Colossians 1:26-27). This is the mystery of the Gospel.

  • We believe that God exists in a triune of 3 distinct personal beings in union with one another (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). In other words: a family. The family relationship is the very essence and nature of God. All doctrines must fit into the family model for this is the very reason for mankind’s creation and purpose and source of our salvation. We exist to experience God’s quality of life which first and foremost exists in relationship. Therefore, at Grace gathering, relationship is very important to us. We see ourselves as an extension of the family of God (1 John 3:1).

  • We believe all anointing and New Covenant ministry was given to the Church by the Holy Spirit in the form of the grace gifts (1 Peter 4:10, Romans 12:6). The gifts of the Spirit are simply Christ’s ministry divided up and manifested in the Church by the Spirit of God. It is essential each believer identify, mature, and walk in their personal gifts, for they are tied to their life’s purpose and calling. At Grace Gathering, our goal is to do all we can to help each believer identify, mature, and place them in their calling and functioning.

  • We believe all doctrine must be filtered through the family dynamic of the Trinity and through the finished work of the cross. The full counsel of God displayed in the scriptures, is what determines our narratives and doctrines. Our narratives and doctrines must bend to the will of scripture, not the other way around. Every scripture must be interpreted this way. Therefore, at Grace Gathering, we clearly reject what Paul calls false and strange teachings such as Universal Salvation, Preterism, Hebrew Roots, Jesus only, Gnosticism (Dualism), Generational Curses, Tithing, and any teaching, religious or denominational system that emphasizes works based salvation and traditions over the finished work of the cross and a Christ centered life.
